Dingle Cónocht an Earraigh to celebrate the Spring Equinox
Sixth edition of the Wheel of the Year series released - plus two single casks
The Irish wheel continues to turn: with the Cónocht an Earraigh, Dingle presents the sixth edition of the "Wheel of the Year" series, which is dedicated to the Celtic year. A total of eight festivals are celebrated throughout the year, with Dingle promising an additional ninth edition.
After celebrating the winter solstice in December with the Grianstad an Gheimhridh, the fifth whiskey in the series, the Irish Dingle Distillery is turning its attention to spring with the new edition. The triple-distilled single malt whiskey matured in bourbon barrels and was then finished in Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks. It was neither coloured nor chill-filtered and bottled at 50.5% vol.
Tasting notes for the Dingle Cónocht an Earraigh
Nose: Ripe plums, blackberries dusted with icing sugar, toasted almonds and muscovado sugar.
Palate: Hints of rich red fruits, delicate spices, gingerbread, fruit cake and dark toffee.
Finish: Long lasting, with sweet fruits balanced by dry tannins.
