Ownership
Membership includes part ownership in a new farm-scale Single Malt Scotch Whisky distillery for 50 years (The Club has taken a 50 year lease on the buildings)
Limited
The Club is limited by it’s legal articles to 1250 people; Each member has equal voting rights on the affairs of the club
300 bottles
The Club will provide every member, at no extra cost other than the cost of bottling and taxes, with a choice of different single malt whiskies distilled at Ladybank sufficient for 6 bottles per annum from each year of distillation.
Founding or Charter Membership Charges
The current joining membership fee also includes the annual charges for every year up until the end of March 2056. (While the distilling production rooms are under construction new members will only pay a one-off joining fee and will have no obligation to pay any additional annual fees during their 50 year membership; once the distillery is in production the cost of new members joining, and of any annual charges for those later new members, will be reviewed)
Distillery access
The distillery, and its private meeting and entertaining rooms, will not be open to the public other than for a strictly restricted number of non-member private events. Only members, and their guests, have unlimited ‘by appointment’ access.
Making your own whisky
Members can, either with their own private group, or as part of a small group of other members, attend their distillery to make their own whisky. Alternatively, or in addition, members can simply visit the distillery to see their whisky being made, or follow the creation of any particular batch via a live webcam.
Transfer of membership
Membership can be transferred at no extra cost to future generations. Membership may also be sold back to the Club.
Additional whisky and other spirits
members will be able to buy additional whisky at preferential rates over and above their allocation. The club will also distil small quantities of limited edition Gin.
Limited edition bottlings
While all Ladybank malt whisky will be rare (by default probably the rarest Single Malt Scotch Whisky due to annual production limited to a maximum of 35,000 litres), members can also request special edition, commemorative and bespoke ‘Owners Reserve’ bottlings. These are expected to become highly collectible investment quality whiskies sought after by whisky collectors.
Involvement
The Club will encourage any members who wish to participate in (a) distillery committees, and a variety of specialist working groups; (b) Local meetings and tastings outside of Scotland; and participate in, or simply access, (c) discussions and comments within the distillery’s Online Boardroom.
